"X" Marks The Spot

Thanks to the fans who have shown support here. I know that there is a vocal minority that always wants to cause trouble. I also know that there are a lot of people that are intimidated by the fans who are always trying to control them. You all know which group of individuals I'm referring to. Why do you all make it a point everyday to go and ruin the fun for everyone?
The people who are always digging and looking for things, it's amazing how frequently the interpretations of their findings are wrong. I've said that I'm new to this. When asked about attributions, I've added them to both photos and videos.

If you intend on searching for buried treasure, you could have just asked for a treasure map. No wonder you people drive away anyone who WANTS OR TRIES to be a fan.

From now on all blogs will be TEXT ONLY, if I blog at all.

  1. I am not understanding this. First, you act like all the pictures are yours, they are not. So if that is case, why not just give credit where credit is due. What is the harm of stating where you got them? Does that somehow change your insiderness? I mean really just be upfront about whose photos they are and where you got them...

  2. no, i've never considered that these people are your friends...unless you can prove that you have permission to post these pictures from their facebook/myspace pages.

why do you have to lie about where you got them?

  3. I said about 5 times now that I'm new here and that I'm new to blogging. I'm sorry that I'm obviously not up to par with your expectations. I never got the memo on the new protocol. However, how does posting my FRIEND'S photos take away from my "insiderness" as you call it?

  4. This fandom has seen tons of people posing as insiders, scamming fans and all manner of craziness. Why wouldn't people be a bit suspicious and wonder what you are up too?

If you can't handle the heat get out of the "insider" fire.

  5. Why must you be an instigator? Why can't you just enjoy what I'm doing and not try to slam me against the ropes? I'm not lying about anything. Why do you feel that you need "proof" of my friends and who are you to ask me to do so? If you have any kind of problem with my blog, perhaps you shouldn't read it.

  6. Okay, let me help you, whether on the internet or any where else, it is never cool to take another person's photos without giving them credit. If you have ever looked at People.com or any other legit site, they always credit the photographer. So by taking the photos and passing them off as your own, or at the very least not giving credit, it raises suspicion.

If they are not your photos state whose they are and that permission was given to post the photos. If you don't have permission, you shouldn't be posting the pictures. By not doing this from the beginning it has really called into question your legitimacy.

  7. me thinks IM doth protest too much.

  8. I never said that the photos were MINE. I said that I often play cameraman, but NEVER did I claim these photos for my own. How many times must I mention that I am new to blogging and I don't know how all of this works!?

  9. Insider FIRE? YES! Just what I've always wanted! Now I can finally have my weeny roast. Anyone got any marshmallows?

  10. Those of you enjoying this can thank the troublemakers (and I don't mean haters, I mean fan troublemakers) if I take it down.

  11. Don't fall for baiting.

Stay with your plan and keep your focus. You can't please others, so please yourself.

This could be a fun blog, only time will tell. I do sincerely hope I never read any inside information of a sensitive nature.

  12. If you play cameraman, use your own pics. I don't get why you need to take stuff off of other people's facebooks, whether with permission or not. Here's a hint for your new blog: USE YOUR OWN STUFF.

  13. Thanks for the tip, Rose. I bet you've never right-clicked and saved any of your friends pictures, have you? Aww, no that's because you and all the others like you would NEVER do anything like that, right?

  14. There is a big difference between right clicking and saving, and posting and not giving credit. Whenever you post a pic on the internet you need to identify whose photo it is.
Most of these photos appear not to have been tagged, which is why it is imperative to give credit, otherwise people assume that they are yours. And while you didn't exactly say they were, you didn't say they weren't. I don't see why giving credit is going to take away the fun of the blog, give credit and state that you have permission, and blog away.

  15. of course i've right clicked and saved but i've never posted another person's picture and claimed them as my own. if i used them in any way i made sure i had their permission and i made sure to credit them for the picture.

    not so hard, right?

  16. As I have stated I don't know how many times before, I am new to this. I have started giving credit where it's due. I hope that some of you will take notice.

  17. I love your (or whomevers) pictures. Thanks for posting and sharing them!

  18. You must tag other people's photos in case the photo becomes famous someday and TPTB will know who to give the credit to, didn't you know that...lol

  19. "Those of you enjoying this can thank the troublemakers (and I don't mean haters, I mean fan troublemakers) if I take it down"

You will be doing what they want. Many dedicated fans are suspicous and jealous from past experience. I suggest just keeping it cool, and don't infer that you have any inside information unless you are willing to tell all and where it came from. Again that could become dangerous.

  20. IM, this is YOUR blog. You need to run it the way you want to and ignore idiots who are trying to derail it. The pictures have been fun. I enjoyed your snarky sense of humor from the other day. Keep it coming.

  21. Just know that any photo is automatically copyrighted by the photographer.

Some posters are being sincere in offering assistance. Being defensive is not helpful as a blog owner.

  22. 6:50 is very wise.

Clay is on a little break and we are a cranky bunch. Just don't jerk our chains. lol.

  23. Keep 'em coming, IM. We need something to occupy our time, and this blog is fun!

Don't let the oh-so-righteous ones get you down.

  24. You know it is funny reading all of these people defending the photographers rights to thier pictures.
Number one if this man is a friend of the photographer and the photographer said it was okay to post with out being tagged or given credit who are we to judge. That is between the photographer and the poster.
Also I am a photographer that does not post my pictures accept to people I can trust and those I thought I could trust. I do NOT ever post my pictures on the boards however they are all over the internet without being and I know some are modified One specifically has been changed from color to black and white all without my permission. So although no one posting here would ever do that, it happens and it happens all of the time. I have on several occasions had to fight to get my pictures removed from several boards.
Plus the pictures that were posted on the OFC also were not tagged
I also saw on the top of the page with the pictures it said Curtesy of R.C. so it seems the original photographer was given credit. Maybe HE didn't want his name known.

  25. Last week a friend of Reed's posted a bunch of pictures on his private Facebook page. I am 100% certain they were not for public consumption and they were posted all over the boards. I am certain they were not given permission to be posted, no credit was given, and the photographer had to make his facebook private. This is someone that has nothing to do with Clay other then the fact he was in the same place as Clay and had taken some pictures. But there are no fans that would do this. Right
